..When removing suckers growth from citrus, it is better to rip, pull or tear the shoots off the trunk than to use a pair of pruning shears. At the base of these shoots are several dormant buds. These buds become active when the main shoots is pruned off. By ripping, tearing or pulling the shoots off, you are eliminating other shoots from growing.

...And finally, You can keep ants off your hummingbird feeder by spreading olive oil on the tip of the water dispenser. Ants do not like the taste of the mixture and will stay away but the taste doesn't seem to bother the birds.
