...Budworm season has arrived so be on the look out for them on Tomatoes, Geraniums, Tomatoes, Flowering Tobacco and others. The adult moth will be laying a single, green egg on the mum varieties, you will get larger flowers by removing fifty percent of the developing buds. This is referred to as disbudding and now is the time of the year to do so

..Established fruit trees should have a deep drink of water twice a month while the fruit is maturing and through the harvest. Once the crop has been harvested, reduce the frequency in half and stop watering when the foliage turns color. Moisture is applied under the drip line and avoids the trunk area. If you are using a watering basin, make sure it extends from the trunk to the drip line.
