Your Lunar -'ToDo'

Lunar Phase - Monday January 18, Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Saturday/Sunday:Moon in the sign of Aquarius - Plant seasonal color …Primroses, Primulas and Iceland Poppies along with Pansies and Violas are just a few of the winter color varieties available today at your favorite garden center. Planted now, they will continue blooming into the early spring months.

Other 'ToDo' Things...

. … Camellia Petal Blight causes the flower to rot at the center. To prevent the disease, clean up all the debris especially the spent flowers. Since we have no chemicals to treat the problem, good sanitation practices are a must. In addition, light cultivation under the plants disrupts the spore producing structures on the ground

...When pruning roses, do not be concerned about finding an outside bud. Prune your roses back to a uniform height then in three to four weeks come back and select the proper outside bud.

...And finally, this is an excellent time to plant perennial vegetables like Asparagus, Rhubarb, Artichokes, Horseradish and others. Your favorite garden center has a good selection now.
